IN SEARCH OF HAPPINESS...

A happy-go-lucky, jovial guy he was
Spreading happiness with his sweet applesauce
Had never experienced pain nor loss
Until one fine day life pressed the button ‘PAUSE’
The lost soul wandering through the arcades of life,
Finally found a lady who he wanted to make his wife…
Thought this was real happiness and end of all strife
But alas he forgot life’s like a double-edged knife…
Nay, the girl was comely, wise and nice
Cooked a dishes many, his favorite chicken n rice
But he’d missed a very important side of the dice
His parents misread virtues as vice
A successful lady, a brilliant daughter of a doting father…
If she wanted even the hardest water could lather
Couldn’t pass the test which to her the most mattered
What was missing, she just couldn’t gather…
Vice one, to him she was elder
Well, didn’t seem like it when he held her
Vice two was an imaginary one,
Mom feared she’d take away her son…
Mom’s fears were not totally baseless
History and events had proved a lot could mess
She was just being cautious and finding ways
Unwilling to meet the truth face to face…
A homely girl, a comely mother
Both in search of happiness, tearing apart from each other
Clearing things up could’ve indeed helped
But instead, at the boy, they individually yelped
Many nights all of them hadn’t slept
Until one fine day, the formerly happy guy just left
Couldn’t keep the promises he made
In search of happiness, he wept
Finding a balance is very difficult many a time
That’s when life calls the shots and you just mime
At times, listening to your heart is a crime
Parents are your true treasure; it’s only you for who they pine.
